• New Campus Theatre

Wednesday, April 9, noon-1 pm

The newly renovated Charity Randall Theatre is about to open in the Stephen Foster Memorial. Volunteers will be given a noontime preview, as well as an opportunity to commit to further voluntary service with the theatre.

• Sci-Tech Festival

Saturday, April 12 or Sunday, April 13

9:30 am-1 pm or 1-5 pm

The Carnegie Science Center on the North Side is sponsoring a week-long Sci-Tech Festival. Volunteers will assist exhibitors and presenters and act as greeters and crowd-handlers.

• Read Around Pittsburgh

Wednesday, April 23, 9 am-1 pm

This year the United Way Day of Caring has been extended beyond September to include a “Reading Day of Caring” this spring. Volunteers will work individually at a local community center, reading with children up to 5 years of age. Transportation and lunch will be provided. Pitt staff who volunteer will need to receive the approval for a half-day of vacation or personal leave time or paid leave time with authorization of their departmental administrator.

• Take Our Daughters to Work Technology Fair

Thursday, April 24, 11 am-1:30 pm

As a part of University’s participation in Take Our Daughters to Work Day, volunteers are needed to help host a lunchtime on-campus technology fair for daughters of faculty and staff.

• Global Links Medical Supplies

Tuesday, April 29, 5:30-7:30 pm

Volunteers will be working at the Bloomfield office of Global Links, an international aid organization that collects and repackages surplus medical supplies for distribution worldwide.

• Marathon Packet Stuffing

Wednesday, April 30, 5:30-7:30 pm

Volunteers will help to stuff the packets for the Pittsburgh Marathon at the Pittsburgh Convention Center, Downtown.
