Honor society chapter established at UPG

Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest all-discipline honors society, recently established a chapter at Pitt’s Greensburg campus and inducted 85 graduates, faculty, staff and students at a combination installation and initiation ceremony on campus.

Before approving the new chapter, Phi Kappa Phi officials did a three-year review of Pitt-Greensburg’s curriculum, faculty, students and facilities, including site visits by officials.

Founded in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi considers the top 10 percentile of all college seniors and the top 7.5 percentile of all second semester seniors for membership.

Phi Kappa Phi joins several discipline-specific honorary societies and Phi Eta Sigma, a national freshman honorary society, that have chapters at Greensburg.
