Katz dean search committee named

Provost James V. Maher has announced that a national search is underway for a new dean of the Katz Graduate School of Business (KGSB) and College of Business Administration (CBA).

Frederick Winter, dean of KGSB and CBA since 1997, is stepping down as dean Aug. 1 to continue his academic career in research and teaching as a professor in the Katz school. Lawrence Feick, professor of business administration and director of Pitt’s International Business Center, will serve as interim dean, effective Aug. 1. (See May 12 University Times.)

Maher named Robert F. Pack, vice provost for academic planning and resources management, to chair the search committee.

The following individuals were named to the committee: Elizabeth R. Adams, director of academic advising, CBA; Ann M. Dugan, assistant dean, Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence; John Harry Evans III, Katz alumni professor of accounting; Raymond F. Gibney Jr., KGSB doctoral student; J. Jeffrey Inman, Albert Wesley Frey Professor of Marketing; Laurie J. Kirsch, associate professor of business administration; S. Jeffrey Kondis, manager, corporate marketing, L.B. Foster Co., and KGSB alumnus; Kenneth M. Lehn, Samuel A. McCullough Professor of Finance; Audrey J. Murrell, associate professor of business administration, psychology and public and international affairs; Dhinu Srinivasan, assistant professor of business administration, and Anna Szczesniak, CBA sophomore and activities chair for the Business Students Council.
