Scholarship established at Bradford

A new scholarship at the Bradford campus will benefit students from Allegany, Olean and Portville, N.Y.

The Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Laskey Memorial Scholarship has been established by Louis and Rose Marie DiSorbo of Allegany in honor of Rose Marie's parents.

"My parents always believed in the youth of the area," said DiSorbo. "They strongly believed that anyone who worked hard should be rewarded and given an opportunity to pursue higher education so that they could go on to fulfill their dreams."

The initial scholarship fund is $10,000, but the DiSorbos hope to increase the amount over the next few years.

"The DiSorbos have been great friends of Pitt-Bradford for many years, and Lou has actively recruited students for the college," said Richard E. McDowell, president at the Bradford campus. "This new scholarship is just another way in which the DiSorbos continue to demonstrate their long-term support and loyalty to the college."
