* The Great Race

Sunday, Sept. 24, 6:30-11 am

Volunteers will help to register runners for the 5K race at this on-campus location. Volunteers also will distribute water to the 10K runners coming through Oakland.

* American Heart Walk

Saturday, Oct. 7, 8 am-noon or 11 am-3 pm

Volunteers will assist the American Heart Association with this annual fund-raiser at Point State Park by staffing health screenings, refreshments and the finish line.

* Food Bank Food Repackaging

Saturday, Oct. 14, 9 am-1 pm

Volunteers will be repackaging tons of food for distribution at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank’s Duquesne warehouse.

* Project Bundle-Up Shopping Day

Saturday, Oct. 21, 7-9:30 am

Each volunteer will help a needy child choose a winter coat at an area department store. The Salvation Army will supply refreshments and gift vouchers. Sign up early for the Project Bundle- Up shopping area most convenient to you: Monroeville, Parkway Center, Century III Mall, Waterworks Mall, West View, Swissvale. The deadline for registration is Oct. 11.

* Haunted House for Make-A-Wish

Saturday, Oct. 28, 6-11:30 pm

Volunteers will serve as ticket takers, guides, parking directors, ghouls and goblins at this very frightening fund-raiser at either a North Park or a South Park location.
