Letters

envelopeWrite to the governor

To the editor:

I had the extreme pleasure and highly satisfying reward of watching April 3’s KDKA/Pittsburgh Post-Gazette TV program featuring Chancellor Nordenberg’s stalwart, clear-cut and persuasive opposition to the cuts in Pitt’s state appropriation advocated recklessly and ill-advisedly by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett. Such a drastically — and irresponsibly — reduced Pitt appropriation by the commonwealth certainly would shortchange our students’ apparatus needed to become informed and aggressive citizens and leaders and for their successful and productive careers in the professions and vocations Pitt will have prepared them to pursue, all of which bodes ill for Pennsylvania and beyond.

Hence, I urgently recommend that my faculty and staff colleagues write to the governor (215 Main Capitol Building,  Harrisburg PA 17120 or to www.governor.state.PA.US) registering their strong opposition to this draconian budget-slashing proposed by the governor.
