HR application process goes paperless

Pitt’s new electronic application web site — dubbed PittSource — now is fully implemented University-wide, Human Resources announced.

The on-line employment system eliminates paper resumes and applications for all open staff positions. All-Temps temporary staffing requests also will be processed through PittSource.

Using PittSource (www.hr.pitt.edu/Employment/pittsource.htm), applicants can maintain a secure personal user account to apply for all non-teaching Pitt positions. PittSource also allows applicants to track the status of the staff positions to which they have applied, maintain alternate resumes and cover letters and create a job profile of their key qualifications.

Since June 15, when phase I of the applicant site was launched, more than 4,400 applicants have created user accounts, applied for positions and/or created a job profile using PittSource, according to Ron Frisch, associate vice chancellor for Human Resources. Phase II was completed Sept. 19. Training began Sept. 6 for departmental staff who will use the system.

Questions should be directed to Judi Stemmler, director of recruiting and client services, at 4-8062 or jstemmler@hr.pitt.edu.
