Pitt-Bradford gardener Bob Harris has designed this year’s campus plantings to reflect the work of renowned artists.

Above: The flowerbed outside Hanley Library is inspired by impressionist Claude Monet’s garden at his home in Givenchy, France. The garden is dominated by white with touches of indigo blue, featuring angelonia, lantana and snow princess as well as Monet’s signature water lilies.

Enjoying the garden are UPB director of alumni relations Lindsay Hilton Retchless and her daughter, Paxton, and son, Trent.

At left: The garden outside Frame-Westerberg Commons is a tribute to 20th-century American artist Georgia O’Keeffe. The bold design includes red cannas, calla lilies and miniature hibiscus.

Elsewhere on campus, Harris’s gardens reflect the artistic influences of Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Titian.
