Pitt ranks 6th for internships
The U.S. News Short List: College ranks Pitt No. 6 in terms of the largest percentage of interns among graduating seniors in 2011.
Of Pitt’s 2011 graduating seniors, 59.9 percent held at least one internship prior to graduation.
The Short List: College is separate from the U.S. News annual Best Colleges and Best Graduate Schools rankings, but uses a portion of the same data.
U.S. News said the Short List “magnifies individual data points in hopes of providing students and parents a way to find which undergraduate programs excel or have room to grow in specific areas that are important to them.” It lists the top 10 most expensive and least expensive schools, as well as the top 10 in a variety of areas covering academics, students, Greek life and endowments.
In August, Pitt’s Office of Career Development and Placement Assistance unveiled an initiative that guarantees every undergraduate the opportunity to experience an internship.
