Mathay named University registrar

Patti Mathay has been named University registrar. She has been serving as interim registrar since July.

As registrar, she will oversee student records, course and classroom scheduling, registration, and transcript verification. She also will be a member of the Council of Deans.

Mathay began her Pitt career as a clerk in Computing Services and Systems Development, becoming a lead systems analyst before transferring to Student Registration and Financial Services to implement an information technology system. She was named manager and assistant to the registrar in 1998, assistant University registrar in 2007, and associate University registrar in 2011.

She is a member of the Middle States Association of Collegiate Registrars and Officers of Admission and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.

Mathay earned her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Business Administration degree from the Katz Graduate School of Business.
