Award finalist
Pitt-Greensburg’s Frank A. Cassell Hall, the new sustainable classroom and office building, is a finalist for the western Pennsylvania Master Builders’ Association Award for “Best New Construction Under $10 Million.” The winner will be announced Feb. 28.
Cassell Hall was designed by FortyEighty Architecture and built by Rycon Construction. It is a two-story, 16,500-square-foot building designed to realize annual energy savings of 30 percent and reduce water usage by 50 percent. Pitt-Greensburg is seeking a Silver LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) designation for the building, which would be the first such LEED certification on campus.
