Teaching excellence fair: Teaching tips
Award-winning Pitt faculty showed off their teaching wares Nov. 9 at the fifth annual Teaching Excellence Fair, a half-day smorgasbord of faculty initiatives and innovations related to teaching and the use of instructional technology.
Co-sponsored by the Provost’s office and the provost’s Advisory Council on Instructional Excellence (ACIE) and coordinated by the Center for Instructional Development and Distance Education (CIDDE), the fair primarily is a forum for winners of 2004-2005 innovation in education grants to summarize their work for other Pitt faculty.
The teaching fair also featured Pitt faculty leading conversations about teaching methods and techniques, and CIDDE staff exhibiting novel instructional support technology.
The teaching innovation grants are awarded each spring by ACIE. The criteria for submitting proposals for the provost’s innovation in education grant program are available on line at www.pitt.edu/AFShome/f/a/facaffs/public/html/acie/awards.html. The deadline for submitting proposals for 2006 innovation in education grants is Jan. 31.
