In commemoration of Black History Month and to celebrate the legacy of the Nationality Rooms, alumnus Ralph Proctor donates authentic artifacts to the African Heritage Nationality Room each February.

Proctor, faculty member and chief diversity officer at the Community College of Allegheny County, is a nationally recognized collector of African art. Among the pieces Proctor donated this year is a chair of a Chokwe chief of Angola used during royal ceremonies held outside the palace.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the African Heritage Nationality Room.
