Film on UN premieres here

In honor of the United Nations' 50th anniversary, Pitt, the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and The Pittsburgh UN50 Coalition will present the documentary film premiere of "In Search of Peace: 50 Years of the U.S. in the U.N." The premiere will take place at 8 p.m. Oct. 23 in 2P56 Forbes Quad. Preceding the film at 7:30 p.m., three local women who attended the Fourth U.N. International Conference on Women held last month in Beijing, China, will talk about their experiences.

A 7 p.m. reception precedes both events.

The film, a one-hour documentary narrated by actor Paul Newman, examines for the first time the struggle of the United Nations from its inception until now and U.S. participation during its first 50 years. The film was produced by The United Nations Association of the USA as part of its expanding efforts to broaden U.S. awareness of the role of the United Nations.
