* Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force Mailing

Saturday, Nov. 4, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Pitt Volunteers will assist in preparing the community-wide mailing to announce the upcoming AIDS WALK. Work will be done at the task force offices in the old Columbia Hospital Building on Penn Avenue.

* The NFL Experience: Pro Football’s Interactive Theme Park

Sunday, Nov. 5, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and noon-4 p.m.

Volunteers are need to register and time participants in the NFL’s official four-on-four flag football festival as it comes to the Pittsburgh area. Competition will be at the Turner Valley Soccer Complex in Norwin. Proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army’s Project Bundle-Up.

* Mothers Against Drunk Driving Ribbon Tying

Saturday, Nov. 11, 9-11:30 a.m.

Pitt Volunteers will assist MADD with their Red Ribbon Campaign to build awareness around not drinking and driving. This will include outdoor work on the University campus.

* Mothers Against Drunk Driving Annual Membership Drive

Wednesday, Nov. 15, 5:30-9 p.m.

Volunteers will work at an Oakland location to assist MADD in contacting current members for renewal of their membership. Volunteers will NOT be solicited to become members.

* Habitat for Humanity Saturday, Nov. 18, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Habitat for Humanity is a world-wide program with a successful history of creating safe and affordable housing from existing stock. Pitt Volunteers will be working alongside Pitt students and low-income individuals.

* Staffing the Kettle for the Salvation Army

Saturday, Nov. 18, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (or partial shift)

Be a part of this 130-year-old tradition of staffing the kettle and ringing the bell to gather funds that assist the needy. Volunteers will work in Shadyside, Squirrel Hill and other East End locations.

* SIDS Alliance Holiday Gift Wrapping

Friday, Nov. 24, 2-6 p.m. & 6-9 p.m.

Pitt Volunteers will spend the day after Thanksgiving wrapping holiday gifts at Century III Mall to benefit the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Alliance. Volunteers receive unlimited free gift-wrapping.
