Magee sets up gynecologic cancer center

Magee-Womens Hospital has established a Gynecologic Cancer Consultation Center to provide multi-disciplinary services for the evaluation and treatment of gynecologic cancers.

The new center is patterned after Magee's Breast Care Consultation Center. It will guide patients through diagnosis, evaluation and individualized treatment planning in one location during one appointment.

Medical specialists at the center include gynecologic oncologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists and pathologists.

Support personnel include nurses, social workers, genetics technicians, physical therapists and imaging technicians specially trained in oncology care.

Consultation services also are available at the center for women with confirmed or suspected gynecologic cancer referred by a physician and self-referred women with a confirmed cancer seeking a second opinion. Information on the center and its program is available by calling 1-800-641-1662.
