Donations to University increase 21.5% in first half of FY 1996, trustees told
Total giving to Pitt (excluding sponsored research) increased by 21.5 percent for the first half of the current fiscal year compared with the same period last year, according to a report presented at the Feb. 22 Board of Trustees meeting.
From July 1 through Dec. 31, 1995, contributions to Pitt totaled nearly $21.4 million, up from $17.6 million the year before. Annual Giving Fund donations were up by 4.78 percent, from $3.13 million to $3.28 million. Non-AGF giving increased by 25.13 percent, from $14.46 million to $18.1 million.
Gifts from foundations increased by 82.1 percent, from $5.8 million to $10.56 million.
Alumni giving was down 21.78 percent, from $4.1 million to $3.2 million. Gifts from non-alumni individuals declined by 13.15 percent, from $2.05 million to $1.78 million.
Corporate gifts to Pitt declined by 5.05 percent, from $1.98 million to $1.88 million.
Gifts from trustees were up 212 percent, from $59,098 to $184,418.
Remaining contributions, grouped under the category of "other" gifts, were up by 4.49 percent, from $3.58 million to nearly $3.75 million.
