Newsprint is dumped from list of University recyclables

Effective immediately, newspaper grade paper should be placed in with the non-recyclable trash and not in containers for recycling, the Office of Facilities Management informed Pitt personnel this week.

Facilities Management said the change was necessitated by the fact that recycling centers are no longer accepting newspaper grade paper as a recyclable material. Newspaper grade paper includes telephone books, class schedules, course descriptions and newspaper stock.

Staff and faculty with questions about this or any aspect of Pitt's recycling program should contact the Pitt Recycling Hot Line at 624-2925.
