UPG awarded $2 million grant

The U.S. Department of Education has awarded Pitt-Greensburg $2.04 million over the next five years. This is the largest single federal grant UPG has received.

UPG will use the funding to focus on three areas: academic programs, institutional management and fiscal stability.

This federal grant, combined with institutional resources, will enable Pitt-Greensburg to expand and modify its program offerings, improve facilities, increase academic support services and increase the use of data and analysis in making business-related decisions.

The award will allow Pitt-Greensburg to:

• Develop new programs to serve the changing interests of the students and the needs of the community.

• Enhance the first-year curriculum to emphasize skills in critical thinking.

• Develop additional experiential learning opportunities.

• Support the faculty learning community on teaching with technology and provide support for faculty digital projects.

• Expand tutoring and remedial opportunities for academically at-risk students.

• Expand participation in study abroad and study/travel programs.
