UPB chosen as demonstration site

Pitt's Bradford campus is among 10 schools selected through competitive application as a demonstration site for a special project on bioethics and medical ethics. The project is part of the American Association for the Advancement of Core Curriculum's "Re-engineering Core Education Through Telecommunications" program.

Development of course materials will begin this fall under the auspices of the International Institute for Ethics and the Humanities, the consortium of schools involved in the project.

"Participation will allow Pitt-Bradford to expand its core curriculum programming by offering courses by telecommunications with other institutions," Carol Baker, dean of academic affairs, said. Other institutions taking part include: Fairleigh Dickinson University, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, Lamar University, Centenary College, Fort Hays State University, Blinn College, Houston Community College and Red Rocks Community College.
