2 University Press books recognized

Two University of Pittsburgh Press titles have been selected for inclusion in Choice Magazine's annual Outstanding Academic Books list.

Choice is a publication of the Association of College and Research Libraries. The complete list of winners will be featured in this month's edition.

The Pitt books selected were:

* "The Last Cacique: Leadership and Politics in a Puerto Rican City."

This collection of essays, edited by Jorge Heine, Chilean ambassador to South Africa, addresses specifics of the Grenada experience and theoretical issues that apply to many small developing societies.

* "Dance and the Specific Image: Improvisation" by Daniel Nagrin.

The book includes Nagrin's personal history as performer, choreographer and teacher and over 100 improvisations that exemplify his aesthetic philosophy.
