Joseph Gil, director of Student Registration and Financial Services, has been appointed interim vice chancellor of Finance and Administration, effective Feb. 1.

Gil replaces Rhonda Gross, who is leaving to become vice president of Finance and Administration at Lehigh. A national search will be launched to permanently fill the position.

Formerly director of the Student Loan Office and director of Public Safety, Gil has been at Pitt since 1970. He is a member of Pitt's NCAA compliance committee, the advisory committee for summer sessions, continuing education and conferences, the Integrated Student Information System development priority committee, and the Senate student affairs committee.
