LETTERS
Thanks to those who contributed to UCDC
To the editor:
This letter is an attempt to reach out to the many anonymous donors at the University of Pittsburgh who generously name the University Child Development Center as the designated recipient of their United Way pledge each year.
This year 22 of 54 individuals who donated their contributions to the center remained anonymous, preventing us from acknowledging them personally. Please know, whoever you are, that the gesture of supporting our work with the University's youngest students is deeply appreciated. Furthermore, your acts of kindness strengthen the commitment each of the 41 teachers and staff members has to our collective mission: of providing exemplary child care/early childhood education to children of the faculty, staff and students at the University of Pittsburgh, while at the same time supporting the University's mission of teaching, research and public service by operating as a laboratory setting for students and faculty specializing in child-related fields of study.
This University community has recognized the integral nature of the University Child Development Center. It is a privilege to have working relationships with so many administrative and academic departments across campus. We continue to appreciate and value our role as part of that University community. Thank you for your support and your generous spirit!
