Breaking ground

Local and University officials broke ground Dec. 1 for Bouquet Gardens, the three-building, 192-bed apartment complex for undergraduate student housing scheduled to open in time for next fall's classes. From left: David Hohman, Building Trades Council president; Alyson Wallach, Student Government Board president; Executive Vice Chancellor Jerome Cochran; Dan Cohen, city councilman, Bob O'Connor, City Council president; Chancellor Mark Nordenberg; Ana Guzman, associate vice chancellor for Facilities Management, and Gene Ricciardi, city councilman. The buildings, located between South Bouquet Street and Oakland Avenue, will be the first new structures on campus since 1992.
