3 UPCI physicians listed among top women's cancer specialists

Three University of Pittsburgh Cancer Center (UPCI) doctors are listed among the country's top 100 women's cancer specialists by Good Housekeeping magazine in its March 1999 issue.

Robert Keenan, associate professor of surgery, division of cadiothoracic surgery, director of the lung transplantation program and head of UPMC's emphysema surgery team; Chandra Belani, associate professor of medicine and co-director of the Lung Cancer Center; and Kenneth Shestak, assistant professor of medicine and chief of the division of plastic surgery at Magee-Womens Hospital, were among those selected by 280 department chairs and section chiefs at major medical centers nationally. The selectors were asked which doctors provide the most expert treatment and are the leading clinicians for treating lung, breast and colon cancer in women.
