Delma Joseph “D.J.” Hebert

Delma Joseph “D.J.” Hebert, professor emeritus of mathematics, died after a long battle with leukemia on Feb. 21, 2005.

Hebert joined the Pitt faculty in 1968 and retired in 1999. He served as chief academic advisor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics from 1982 to 1985.

Hebert’s research interests included pattern formation in stochastic dynamical systems and workstation research tools.

Hebert received his B.A. from Rice University in 1961 and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas in 1963 and 1967, respectively. Donations may be sent to the Culver Awards Endowment in memory of D.J. Hebert, University of Pittsburgh, Arts and Sciences Development, 910 Cathedral of Learning.
