Marathon fund-raiser for UPB

A group of people from Bradford ran in the Nov. 8 Columbus, Ohio, marathon to help raise money for a new scholarship at the Bradford campus. The endowed scholarship fund is being created in memory of Anne Taylor Babasick, who died last August following a battle with breast cancer. The scholarship will go to a student from the Bradford area. Babasick, a graduate of Bradford Central Christian High School, worked at National City Bank. Her husband, Paul, works for Schlumberger Oil Field Services and recently relocated to New Orleans after having worked in Bradford for many years. Babasick's brother, James Taylor, attended UPB as a student in 1963-64. Another brother, Donald Taylor, previously donated money to UPB for books on cancer research in his sister's memory.

An annual fund-raiser will be held to generate funds for the endowment. For more information about the scholarship, contact Bradford's Office of Development at (814) 362-5091.
