Pitt transplantation pioneer Thomas Starzl will be especially busy during the first week of May. On Monday, May 3, Starzl will address Pitt's 1999 graduating class at the University's commencement ceremonies at the Civic Arena.
On May 6, Starzl is expected to be in Chicago to receive The Global Conference Institute's first Healthcare Humanitarian Award. Starzl is being recognized for his leadership in health care, his breakthroughs in scientific research and his ongoing contributions to transplantation and world medicine.
