Pitt a sponsor of Race for the Cure

Pitt is a major sponsor of the Sunday, May 9, Race for the Cure. Sue Harkins, director of the University's College Connections Program, is serving as this year's race coordinator.

"Pitt has a very strong presence in Race for the Cure," Harkins said. "We are very grateful to those who turn out to run or walk and to those people who sponsor our participants. It's a wonderful day and Pitt people play a large role in the race's success."

Last year nearly 19,000 people participated in the race, which raises funds for breast cancer programs and research. Participants can register for the race at the Forbes Quad Galleria on May 3 and May 4, noon- 8 p.m. Registration is $15.

For more information on the race, call Bill Young, University Relations, at 624-4209.
