Pitt Poetry Series gets NEA grant
The Pitt Poetry Series, published by the University of Pittsburgh Press, has received a $20,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support and expand its promotional efforts.
The Press was one of only five university presses to receive such support.
The money will be used to start an advertising campaign, create a direct-mail catalog for new Press books and plan and promote author readings and book-signing tours.
Established in 1968, the Pitt Poetry Series publishes seven books of poetry annually, including the winners of the Press's Agnes Lynch Starrett Award and the Associated Writing Programs' Award Series in Poetry.
