Wylie named interim controller

Assistant Controller Douglas W. Wylie has been named as the interim replacement for Controller and Assistant Treasurer William G. Laird.

Laird will leave Pitt at the end of October to become assistant vice president for finance at Carnegie Mellon University.

Arthur G. Ramicone, interim vice chancellor for Finance, said it hasn't been determined yet when a search for Laird's permanent successor will begin.

Laird started at Pitt in 1986 as the chief financial officer for the psychiatry department. He was named controller in 1992 and became controller and assistant treasurer last February.
