Parenting lectures planned

"The Family Life Cycle: Issues for Parents" will be the subject of a series of brown bag lunch programs during March and April. Co-sponsored by the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, Organization Development and the University Child Development Center, each program in the series will run from noon-1 p.m. in the William Pitt Union.

Food will be permitted at all but the April 9 program. The schedule is as follows:

* March 12: "Parenting Young Children: Who's the Boss?" presented by Sherry Cleary, director of the University Child Development Center, in Dining Room A.

* March 19: "Do I Like the Kind of Parent I Am?" presented by Cleary in Dining Room B.

* March 26: "Preparing for Adolescence: The Second Toddlerhood?" presented by Greg Wittig, a middle school teacher at Falk School, in Dining Room B.

* April 2: "Living With Teenagers: Joys and Challenges," presented by Martha Mattingly, a faculty member in the School of Social Work, in Dining Room B.

* April 9: "Is Parenting Ever Over? Supporting Your Adult Children: Where Is the Balance?" presented by Paulina McCullough, a therapist with the Western Pennsylvania Family Center, in Room 527. No food will be permitted at this program.

* April 16: "You and Your Elderly Parents: The Emotional Issues," presented by Julie Malloy, a social worker at the Benedum Geriatric Center, in Dining Room B.
