Institutional Advancement announces two appointments

The Office of Institutional Advancement has announced two new appointments.

Margaret McDonald has been named associate vice chancellor for interdisciplinary projects and international initiatives in the Health Sciences, and David Dalessandro has been named associate vice chancellor for Health Sciences development and strategic operations.

McDonald has served in a variety of development roles since she joined the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 1983. Most recently, she has was assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs, Health Sciences. She also served as interim vice chancellor for institutional advancement from October 1995 to January 1997.

In her new position, McDonald will continue to coordinate international academic initiatives in the Health Sciences and other University-wide international advancement initiatives.

Dalessandro has worked in fundraising for more than 17 years. He has served as vice president for development at Marietta College, assistant vice president for development at Carnegie Mellon University and director of campaign planning at Case Western University's School of Medicine.

At Pitt, Dalessandro will oversee institutional advancement programs in the schools of the Health Sciences and the Department of Systems and Operations in Institutional Advancement.
