Pitt ranking “at a glance”

U.S. News and World Report’s 2007 “best colleges” edition also features “your school at a glance” quick facts, including a breakdown of the undergraduate student body.

For fall 2005 enrollment at Pitt, 85 percent of students come from Pennsylvania; 89 percent of students are full time; 52 percent of students are female (total women: 8,823; men, 8,201); 85 percent of undergrads are white, 9 percent African American, 4 percent Asian American, with 1 percent Hispanic and 1 percent international.

The percentage of students who live in on-campus housing is 44 percent. The average age of full-time students is 21, with 12 percent 25 or older. Nine percent of male undergrads are members of fraternities, and 9 percent of the females have joined sororities, according to the magazine.
