Oakland traffic survey on web site

Pitt is facilitating a local transportation survey on behalf of the Allegheny Conference’s Oakland investment committee.

The committee, which is composed of the leadership of the University, Carnegie Mellon University, the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, UPMC, the Heinz Endowments and the Richard King Mellon Foundation, seeks to develop a comprehensive model of the Oakland transportation system.

Pitt officials are encouraging all faculty and staff to take the online survey, which is accessed through the Pitt portal (my.pitt.edu) via the link “traffic survey.” Survey responses are anonymous and confidential.

The survey, which is being conducted by Trans Associates in cooperation with the Allegheny Conference, is part of a series of surveys designed to create new transit options based on existing traffic patterns and the projected growth of Oakland’s economy, Pitt officials stated in a Sept. 12 letter to the University community.

University officials estimate the survey takes about 5 minutes to complete.
