Family House Orientation

Thursday, Nov. 16, noon-1 pm

Family House is in critical need of volunteers to work on an ongoing basis with out-of-town visitors of patients in Oakland hospitals. Find out about the program at this on-campus orientation luncheon.

YMCA Turkey Trot

Thursday, Nov. 23, 7:30-10:30 am

This Downtown race benefits scholarship assistance to YMCA community and family programs. Deadline for volunteer signup is Nov. 16.

Gift Bag Preparation

Tuesday, Dec. 19, 4-7 pm

For the first time, Pitt will host a Salvation Army Christmas dinner for the area’s homeless. As a part of the day, gift bags will be given to dinner guests. Volunteers are needed at an on-campus location to assemble the gift bags. Dinner will be provided.

Global Links Medical Supplies

Thursday, Dec. 21, 5:30-7:30 pm

Volunteers will be working at the Bloomfield office of Global Links, an international aid organization that collects and repackages surplus medical supplies.

Christmas Dinner at Pitt

Monday, Dec. 25, 10 am-2 pm or 11:30 am-3:30 pm

Pitt’s Oakland campus will host a Salvation Army Christmas dinner for homeless people. Volunteers are needed to assist in serving and other tasks.
