JURIST web site wins award

JURIST (www.jurist.law.pitt.edu), the Pitt School of Law’s legal news and research service, won a W3 Gold Award in the “Law and Legal Services” category.

According to the W3 web site: “The W3 Awards honor outstanding web sites, web marketing and web advertising created by some of the best interactive agencies, designers and creators worldwide. The W3 Awards are sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only group consisting of top-tier professionals from a ‘who’s who’ of acclaimed media, interactive, advertising and marketing firms.”

JURIST is comprised mostly of volunteer law student reporters, editors and web site developers led by Pitt law professor Bernard Hibbitts, who is editor-in-chief. It is the only law school-based legal news service.
