My.pitt.edu portal wins award

Pitt’s integrated web portal — my.pitt.edu — has won an InfoWorld 100 award.

InfoWorld magazine identifies and promotes emerging technology segments that add value for the organizations implementing them, as well as the vendors providing them. The award honors projects that demonstrate the most creative use of cutting-edge technologies to further business goals.

My.pitt.edu provides information and applications through one centralized resource via a single log-in. Students, faculty and staff use the portal for everything from checking the local weather to accessing grades, paying tuition bills or changing retirement plan contributions. The portal is a secure environment that utilizes Pitt’s central directory service for identity management and access controls.
