Chemistry department deemed “outstanding”

Pitt’s Department of Chemistry has received an “outstanding” award from the American Chemical Society (ACS).

Pitt’s ACS student affiliates chapter in chemistry was named an outstanding award winner for 2005-2006.

Of the more than 980 ACS chapters only 34 received this recognition.

The ACS was particularly complimentary of the efforts of chemistry professor George Bandik for his continuing work in providing the guidance needed to have an exceptional undergraduate chemistry program.
