2 UPB nursing programs accredited

Two nursing programs at the Bradford campus have received full accreditation from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

The RN to BSN, or bachelor of science in nursing degree program, and the associate of science in nursing degree program both have been accredited by the NLNAC through spring 2012.

In accrediting programs, the NLNAC emphasizes learning, community, responsibility, integrity, value, quality and continuous improvement through reflection and analysis. Institutions are required to measure standards and achievement, and the faculty are expected to provide a supportive and humane environment in which people interact with each other in a spirit of cooperation, openness and respect.

Lisa Fiorentino is director of the UPB nursing program.

Pitt-Bradford is one of 22 educational institutions in Pennsylvania with an NLNAC-accredited bachelor degree program, and one of 23 institutions with an NLNAC-accredited associate degree program.
