Senate committee members elected

Faculty members who won seats on the 15 University Senate standing committees were announced this week.

Committee members, who are voted on by members of Faculty Assembly, serve three-year terms.

Newly elected members are:

• Admissions and student aid: Susan Shaiman (Kimelman), School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS); Vladimir Savinov, Arts and Sciences (A&S), physics and astronomy; William S. Saunders, A&S, biology.

• Anti-discriminatory policies: Dorothy Hawthorne-Burdine, nursing; Janine Janosky, medicine; Emilia Lombardi, Graduate School of Public Health (GSPH).

• Athletics: Timothy Averch, medicine; Lou Fabian, education; Jamie E. Pardini, medicine.

• Benefits and welfare: Roger Flynn, information sciences; Judith Lave, GSPH; Patricia Weiss, Health Sciences Library System (HSLS).

• Budget policies: Stephen Carr, A&S, English; Nancy Glazener, A&S, English; Daniel Milberg, Greensburg, psychology.

• Bylaws and procedures: Nicholas Bircher, medicine; Andrew Franz, Greensburg, administration of justice; Deborah Gould, A&S, sociology.

• Commonwealth relations: Susan B. Hansen, A&S, political science; Wendy Mann, University Library System (ULS); Debora Rougeux, ULS.

• Community relations: Kate Colligan, ULS; Wesley M. Rohrer, GSPH; Mark Sanders, medicine.

• Computer usage: Jeen-Shang Lin, engineering; Claire Siskin, A&S, linguistics; Fran Yarger, HSLS.

• Educational policies: M. Kathleen Kelly, SHRS; Steven Lyon, education; Jay Rajgopal, engineering.
