Extreme Weather Conditions Policy and ENS Text Alerts

As another winter season approaches, please become familiar with University Policy 07-04-02, Extreme Weather Conditions, which can be found in the Faculty/Staff section of the University’s Policy and Procedure Manual. Please also be aware of any additional procedures that may be implemented by your respective area/department.

The University offers an Emergency Notification Service (ENS), which is used to communicate with subscribers through voice, text and email messages, as deemed appropriate in the event of an emergency. Everyone at the University is subscribed to receive email alerts from ENS. You can also subscribe to receive text and voice message alerts on your cell by following the step-by-step instructions at technology.pitt.edu.

Note that any changes to normal University operations will be announced as early as possible through the ENS, the University’s official website (www.pitt.edu), Twitter (@PittTweet) and local news media outlets.
