Pharmacy school collaborates with DEA on opioid report for Pennsylvania

Pitt's School of Pharmacy Program Evaluation Research Unit recently published the latest edition of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s report, “The Opioid Threat in Pennsylvania,” and also made significant changes to its OverdoseFree PA website.

The goal with these updates is to provide visitors with an easier way to learn about Pennsylvania’s opioid crisis through data visualizations, reports, personal stories and more. For example, the site offers basic facts, local resources, a resource guide and the latest edition of the DEA report from September.

The DEA’s report, which was prepared in collaboration with the School of Pharmacy PERU’s Technical Assistance Center and the DEA Philadelphia Field Division, presents a comprehensive overview of the threat posed by opioids in the commonwealth from the supply, demand, and impact perspectives.
