Pittsburgh EU Film Festival coming to the Harris Theater

The Pittsburgh EU Film Festival, organized by Pitt’s European Studies Center and Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies, will be in person starting Jan. 20 at the Harris Theater in downtown Pittsburgh.

The festival, which runs through Jan. 26, gets funding from the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, and the Meet EU initiative of Pitt, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and Florida International University.

It will feature the 2022-23 MEETEU Emerging EU Filmmaker, Vida Skerk of Croatia, whose film “Night Ride” will be screened on Jan. 21 and 23. The film will be proceeded at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 21 and 5 p.m. Jan. 23 by “The Raven and the Seagull” from Danish director Lasse Lau, who will be present both days.

Other films come from Poland, Hungary, France, Germany, Slovakia, Italy and Spain.
