Alaine M. Allen, director of the Pitt engineering career access program housed in the Swanson School of Engineering, is this year’s winner of the Chancellor’s Affirmative Action Award. The award, which carries a $2,500 prize, is presented annually to a program that, or an individual who, has made a significant contribution to affirmative action at Pitt.

Chancellor Mark Nordenberg, left, presented the award to Allen at the June 15 Senate Council meeting.
