Transit schedules changing March 25

Schedules for approximately 60 bus and light rail transit routes will be adjusted on March 25 as pat of Port Authority of Allegheny County’s regular quarterly adjustment of schedules.

March 25 also will be the opening day of the light rail extension between the North Shore and the reconstructed Gateway Station.

Oakland service adjustments starting this month include:

  • 28X Airport Flyer: All trip times will be changed on weekdays and weekends/holidays.
  • 52L Homeville Limited: Trip times will be changed and service frequency will be changed from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes.
  • 53 Homestead Park: Trip times will be changed for better transfers to Y49 route for CCAC South connection.
  • 53L Homestead Park Limited: Some trip times will be changed. Service frequency will be decreased at certain times of day.
  • 56 Lincoln Place: Some trip times will be changed.
  • 57 Hazelwood: Some trip times will be changed.
  • 58 Greenfield: Service frequency will be reduced during weekday midday/evenings and on weekends. Some trip times will be changed.
  • 61A Wilkinsburg-Forbes Avenue: Weekday 61A and 63 Edgewood service will be combined between Wilkinsburg and Swissvale. Outbound 61A trips will use Wood Street and Ross Avenue in Wilkinsburg and will continue to Swissvale Station along the current outbound 63 routing. Inbound 61A trips will start at Swissvale Station and use the current 63 routing to South Avenue at Hay Street. From there, trips will continue inbound using the current 61A routing. Weekday 61A service to Wilkinsburg Station will be discontinued. All 61A trips operating to Swissvale Station via Edgewood will be named 61A Edgewood via Forbes Avenue. There will be no changes to weekend/holiday 61A service.
  • 61B Braddock-Swissvale: Early morning and late night schedule times will be adjusted.
  • 61C Homestead-McKeesport: Late night trip times will be changed.
  • 61D Murray: Early morning and late night trip times will be changed.
  • 63 Edgewood: Weekday 61A and 63 Edgewood service will be combined between Wilkinsburg and Swissvale. Weekday 61A trips will be renamed 61A Edgewood via Forbes Avenue and will use 63 routing between Wilkinsburg and Swissvale Station. Two trips will remain designated 63, one departing Wilkinsburg Station stop B at 5:40 a.m. and the other from Swissvale Station stop A at 12:05 a.m. (weekdays only).
  • 65 Squirrel Hill: This route no longer will stop on Fifth Avenue at Ross Street and will instead stop on Fifth Avenue near Grant Street.
  • 71B Highland Park: Some weekday inbound trips will be extended to begin at The Waterworks. Most trips on Saturday will be extended to/from The Waterworks.
  • 75 Ellsworth: Weekday midday trip times will be changed.
  • 87 Friendship: Three weekday outbound trips will be eliminated. Some inbound trip times will be changed on weekdays and weekends/holidays.
  • 91 Butler Street: Some trip times will be adjusted at the VA Hospital stop.
  • 93 Lawrenceville-Oakland: Some trip times will be adjusted at the Shop ’n Save stop.
  • P1 East Busway-All Stops: Trip times will be changed in the afternoon and early evening. On Saturdays, service frequency will be increased from every 20 minutes to every 15 minutes between 11:45 a.m. and 8:05 p.m.
  • P2 East Busway-Short: Trip times will be changed in the afternoon and early evening.
  • P3 East Busway-Oakland: For parts of the morning and afternoon peak periods, service frequency will be increased from every 10 minutes to every 5 minutes. Service frequency will be reduced during midday. Some trip times will change.
