Senate committee election results announced

Election results for open faculty seats on the 15 University Senate standing committees have been announced.  Voting was held April 24-May 6.

Winners serve three-year terms beginning July 1.

Newly elected committee members are:

• Admissions and student aid: Leonard Baidoo, medicine; Robin Kear, University Library System (ULS); Anna Mary Williford, ULS (Greensburg).

• Anti-discriminatory policies: Marilyn Hravnak, nursing; Barcu Savun, political science (arts & sciences); Kelly B. Williams, dental medicine.

• Athletics: Nancy Burkoff, law; Jay Irrgang, medicine; Elizabeth (Betsy) Nagle, education.

• Benefits and welfare: Rachel Fusco, social work; Irene Kane, nursing; Linda Tashbook, law.

• Budget policies: Hiro Good, ULS; Michael Pinsky, medicine; Chandralekha Singh, physics and astronomy (A&S).

• Bylaws: Alice Blazeck, nursing; Thotolla (Jay) Jayaraman, dental medicine; Michael Neft, nursing.

• Commonwealth relations: Russell Clark, physics and astronomy (A&S); Robert Daley, computer science (A&S); Edda (Floh) Thiels, neurobiology.

• Community relations: Laurie Cohen, ULS; Penelope Morel, medicine; Pamela Toto, health and rehabilitation sciences.

• Computer usage: Joe Costantino, public health; John LaDue, Health Sciences Library System; Sam Tisherman, medicine.

• Educational policies: Bonnie Falcione, pharmacy; Zsuzsa Horvath, dental medicine; Helen Petracchi, social work.

• Library: Susan Skledar, pharmacy; Scott Tashman, medicine.

• Plant utilization and planning: Nancy Baker, health and rehabilitation sciences; Jeanine Buchanich, public health; Kent Harries, engineering.

• Student affairs: Kirk Erickson, psychology (A&S); Stacy Gelhaus, medicine; Ray Jones, business.

• Tenure and academic freedom: Willa Doswell, nursing; Rebecca Hughey, medicine; Marianne Novy, English (A&S).
