Alzheimer research proposals sought

Sept. 13 is the initial deadline for proposals for the Alzheimer Disease Research Center (ADRC) seed monies grant program, which funds pilot grants to stimulate innovative research relevant to Alzheimer’s disease. Proposals can range from basic science to psychosocial, with priority given to novel approaches.

A brief description should be emailed to Leslie Dunn, dunnlo@upmc.edu by Sept. 13. Include the title of the proposal, names of investigators/co-investigators, a brief description of the project and a brief statement of relevance of the proposed research to the field.

Investigators invited to submit a full proposal will be notified by Sept. 18.

ADRC also is seeking research proposals to include in its application for renewal of funding from the National Institute on Aging.

Projects should be similar to small R01 grants or sub-projects of program project grants. Projects from junior investigators are encouraged.

Researchers should submit 1-2 page proposals to Dunn, dunnlo@upmc.edu, by Sept. 20.

Proposals should include a brief statement of the purpose and underlying rationale, specific aims and hypotheses, a summary of preliminary data and a list of potential co-principal investigators or co-investigators.

For more information, contact Dunn, dunnlo@upmc.edu.
