Trustees approve lab renovation

The Board of Trustees property and facilities committee on Aug. 7 approved $3.49 million for the first phase of a renovation project for the 17th-floor laboratory of the Thomas E. Starzl Biomedical Science Tower.

The renovations will create flexible open lab space for researchers in the School of Medicine’s Department of Cardiology and will improve lighting and infrastructure.

The renovations also are expected to help recruit and retain faculty and will allow flexibility to respond to changing research priorities and instrumentation requirements.
