Wellness Benefits Target Choosing Fresh and Local Foods, Reward Healthy Living

When you buy from farmers’ markets, you are supporting the local community and contributing to your health and wellness. Join the Pittsburgh community in adopting a healthier lifestyle by consuming locally-grown produce while also supporting local farmers this summer. In addition to Pitt’s own year-round Farms to Pitt Program, a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, there are three farmers’ markets within walking distance of the campus and even more around the city.

Healthy Lifestyle Rewards Deadline Approaching

Your chance to earn UPMC’s Healthy Lifestyle Rewards ends on June 30. Faculty and staff members covered by UPMC medical plans can earn up to $100 by completing a MyHealth questionnaire or by scheduling a physical exam and a biometric screening.

The brief questionnaire can be accessed by logging into your UPMC Health Plan account. Upon completion of the MyHealth questionnaire, you will receive a $100 reward. (Instructions to access the question are available here.)

The biometric screening and physical exam are both worth $50 each. To complete the screening, schedule an appointment with Quest Diagnostics through the UPMC Health Care Concierge team by calling 1-888-499-6885. The physical exam can be completed by visiting your primary care physician.

Your spouse or domestic partner is also able to earn a $100 reward, so remember to complete the healthy incentives program before the June 30 deadline. Those that take part in the program will see rewards distributed in September paychecks.
